The label – Dragon – will be available in bottle shops this month.
Xanadu joins Evans & Tate in creating this new premium wine brand in the upper end of the sub-$20 category, the series includes: 2006 Dragon Sauvignon Blanc Semillon RRP $16 (cellar door price); 2006 Dragon Chardonnay (unoaked) RRP $16 (cellar door price); 2005 Dragon Cabernet Merlot RRP $16 (cellar door price); and 2005 Dragon Shiraz RRP $16 (cellar door price).
Feast Perth 2007
Feast Perth 2007 will be taking place at Perth’s best kept secret – Victoria Gardens – to delight all kinds of taste buds on Sunday March 18, from 10am to 4pm.
The main attraction of the festival is the food fair taking place in the park overlooking Claisebrook cove, where visitors will be able to sample food, wine and produce from a broad range of stalls featuring WA’s diverse restaurants, growers, producers and wineries.
The festival also offers a variety of workshops. The Miele Chef’s Masterclasses will invite award winning chefs such as Ismail Tosun (Eminem) or David Commer (Star Anise) to share their cooking techniques ($20/person). The Tutored Tastings, to be held at the Royal Brasserie will examine the flavours of local tea, coffee, beer and wine ($15/person).
Bookings are essentials for the workshops.
French Film Festival
The French Film Festival will open on March 29 at Cinema Paradiso, bringing 17 new French film releases to Perth.
Screening at this year’s opening night will be the highly acclaimed film The Singer, starring Gerard Depardieu and Cecile de France.
Last year’s festival attracted more than 4,000 film buffs.
The 2007 program features performances from some of France's most celebrated screen actors. Screening films from all genres and for all tastes, from blockbuster box office hits to sophisticated independent productions, the Alliance Française French Film Festival offers a diverse choice of French’s best latest cinema.
