Brian Beresford

ONE of Brian Beresford’s most significant business achievements was his appointment as director of GEM consulting in January 2004. Established in 1996, GEM consulting is a leading management consulting and corporate advisory form. Formerly a manager at GEM, Mr Beresford and his fellow directors have continued the business’s success after the departure of its founding partners in early 2004. While at GEM, Mr Beresford has advised clients on strategy projects, private and public capital raisings, mergers and acquisitions, commercial due diligence, group restructuring and capital investment decisions. His clients have included large WA utilities and resources companies, as well as smaller technology and life science companies. The firm has performed strongly over the past two years and is looking to expand from 18 to 20 staff in 2006, further enhancing its standing as one of Perth’s premier strategy consulting firms. Mr Beresford has been a member of the Western Australian Football Commission for the past four years and has overseen the successful privatisation of the WA Egg Marketing Board in 2005 in his role as chairman of the privatised entity, West Coast Eggs. His entrepreneurial and innovative attributes include an appetite for hard work, persistence and a willingness to take a calculated risk. Honesty and integrity, empathy of staff and clients, loyalty to all, and adopting a long-term vision for business have ensured Mr Bereford’s reputation as a leader.
