The University Senate of Western Australia has confirmed the appointment of Professor William (Bill) Ford as the Dean of the Faculty of Law.
The University Senate of Western Australia has confirmed the appointment of Professor William (Bill) Ford as the Dean of the Faculty of Law.
UWA Vice-Chancellor, Professor Alan Robson, said that Professor Ford had been appointed following the position being advertised internationally and an extensive search process.
"The University is delighted to confirm the appointment of Professor Ford to lead the Law School. He has made a significant contribution to the teaching and study of law in all its forms over many years, and in so doing earned the respect of the students, staff and the profession," Professor Robson said.
Professor Ford a long-serving member of the UWA Law School has acted in the position since the University's academic restructure five years ago.
"Professor Ford has been assiduous in working to improve the standing of the School and to build on its existing academic excellence.
He is also one of Australia's most respected academic lawyers in the fields of labour law and constitutional law," Professor Robson said.
