Shares in Perth-based gold and base metals explorer Berkeley Resources Ltd have risen four per cent after its announcement of a placement to raise $3.15 million to be used on the exploration of it's Spanish uranium projects.
At 1130 WST, the share price of Berkely had risen 2 cents to 47.5 cents.
The company has placed 7 million new ordinary shares at 45 cents each to institutional clients of Mirabaud Securities Ltd in London.
Berkely is the leading uranium explorer in the Iberian Peninsula, with a suite of exploration projects in the Salamanca, Caceres and Guadalajara provinces in Spain.
The capital raising follows news earlier this month that the company had been granted the first four of its exploration licences (Salamanca I and II projects)and is completing a process of data acquisition and review to prioritise its exploration targets for the current year.
The company said the Salamanca area is the main historic uranium mining province in Spain.
