BankWest will stay independent: Sutton

New BankWest managing director Jon Sutton committed his new charge to acting independently of its parent Commonwealth Bank as the major moves to take control of its new WA asset.

BankWest's recent change to the manner in which it charges on foreign currency transactions give a good indication of the manner in which it treats customers! No, for me it is time for change ... after nearly 50 years as a customer!

Bankwest are uncompetitive now, I'd imagine partially due to their new parent. Used to be the most competitive with home loans, but now the standard variable rate is 0.8% higher than Commonwealth's standard variable rate.
