Babcock and Brown revises offer

THE sweetened Babcock & Brown and Singapore Power International cash-and-scrip offer won over energy utility Alinta Ltd, with its revised $8.04 billion takeover proposal trumping larger rival Macquarie Bank Ltd for the second time. The offer values Alinta shares at $16.06 each, an improvement of more than $1 per share on B&B’s initial proposal.
