ABC radio reported BGC was the only company to enter a plea of not guilty in court today while the lawyers for the other companies said they were waiting on more information before entering a plea.
All eight companies, including Fortescue Metals Group Ltd, Spotless Services Pty Ltd and WorleyParsons, face a total of 49 charges laid by WorkSafe for failing to provide a safe working environment.
Debra Till and Craig Raabe were killed and several others were seriously injured in March last year when Cyclone George hit a Pilbara construction camp.
The case is due back in court in December.
