Ongoing work at Asra Minerals’ Mt Stirling project in the eastern Goldfields region of WA has delivered another stunning set of high-grade gold intercepts that has also extended the operation’s mineralisation down-dip.
The Perth-based company says recent drilling at the Estera prospect has delivered some of its best results so far across the operation’s southern tenements.
Some of the better results include a 2m section going 13.21 grams per tonne gold from 106m with a 1m inclusion at 24.79 g/t gold from the same depth and a 2m interval at 4.59 g/t gold from 9m. The 2m hit had a 1m component running 7.12 g/t gold from 9m with and another 1m section grading 4.53 g/t gold from 119m.
Asra says high-grade gold intercepts discovered across Mt Stirling's northern tenements over the past year were now being replicated in the south, where Estera holds court as one of four major prospects. The results are down dip from a series of previously announced high grade intercepts including a 2m interval at 12.18 g/t gold from 20m and 4m grading 4.86 g/t gold from 52m.
The company believes the strong down-dip continuity and outstanding intersections in its southern tenements are typical of a high-grade gold system.
Asra’s exploration manager, Claudio Sheriff-Zegers, says Estera shares structural links with several adjacent targets including the company’s Diorite King, Little Wonder and Diorite Queen prospects.
The company believes it could have a 2.5km north-south structural corridor between the Little Wonder, Diorite King and Estera, prospects, with several historical mines scattered between the targets.
It will now look towards further extension and definition work at Estera in preparation of a maiden mineral resource estimate expected in the third quarter of the year.
Newly rebranded Asra has its foot on 10 major gold targets across two adjacent tenements at Mt Striling, including the MS Viserion Deposit and Stirling Well deposit that boast a combined JORC-compliant resource of more than 118,000 ounces of gold.
Formally known as Torian Resources, the company relaunched itself as Asra Minerals after discovering cobalt and scandium mineralisation at Mt Stirling, paving the way for the renowned gold miner to build a new identity off the back of its newly defined rare earths, critical minerals and precious metal portfolio.
