Aspermont ups stake in UK publisher to 35% for $1.6m

Perth-based publishers Aspermont Ltd has announced plans to increase its stake in UK publishers Mining Communications Ltd from 10 per cent to 35 per cent, for a total cost of over $1.6 million.

The acquisition, to be funded from existing working capital and a private placement for around $1.3 million, will strengthen the company's aim of growing its product and services bases, it announced today.

Aspermont chief executive Colm O'Brien said the asociation between the companies woudl provide the perfect platform for expanding print, online and conferencing products.
