Verios, Criddle join Decmil board
Decmil Group has appointed Lee Verios and Scott Criddle (pictured) as directors of the company. Mr Verios, who is currently chairman of Port Bouvard and the Wyllie Group, will join the board as an independent non-executive director. Mr Criddle, who currently serves as Decmil’s chief executive, has been appointed managing director to the board. The appointments are subject to shareholder approval at the company’s annual general meeting.
Caruso leaves Australasian
Australasian Resources managing director Andrew Caruso has tendered his resignation due to personal reasons. Mr Caruso achieved a number of significant milestones while in charge of the company including the completion of a detailed feasibility study of Australasian’s flagship Balmoral South iron ore project. The board will assess its options in regards to Mr Caruso’s replacement. He will leave the company on June 19 in accordance with his service contract.
Baum heads to ThinkSmart
International computer and office equipment financing company ThinkSmart has announced the appointment of Anthony Baum as chief operating officer. Mr Baum has nearly 20 years experience in the banking sector and is currently the group executive of wealth and third party banking at Bendigo Adelaide Bank. He has previously been responsible for Adelaide Bank’s wealth management businesses and has also served in different capacities at the bank after joining the business in 2000 from BNP Paribas in London.
Sharman joins Velrada
Velrada, international provider of information management, process improvement and organisational change services, has appointed James Sharman as technical consultant. Mr Sharman has an extensive background in development, implementation and consultancy, both in Australia and overseas.
Chong a Lavan partner*
Lavan Legal has appointed Tony Chong as partner in the corporate services group. Mr Chong has extensive experience in commercial transactions and corporate advisory within the banking, property and energy sectors. He has operated in private practice, is a qualified accountant and has expertise in large scale projects and developments, corporate and tax structuring.
Collier workforce committee chair*
Training and Workforce Development Minister Peter Collier has been appointed as the national chair of the new Workforce Development, Supply and Demand Principal Committee. The principal committee forms part of the new governance structure for the Ministerial Council on Tertiary Education and Employment.
Ambrose tourism chief
The Augusta Margaret River Tourism Association has appointed Simon Ambrose as chief executive officer. Mr Ambrose joins the AMRTA after spending the past few years with the Blue Mountains City Council, where he was responsible for managing the development of the new Blue Mountains Cultural Centre.
A first for Corrigan
Plastic surgeon Brigid Corrigan has joined WA hand injury management experts, HANDOC. Dr Corrigan is one of only three female plastic surgeons working in WA and will join the team of seven specialists, reconstructive hand surgeons at Subiaco-based HANDOC. She has recently returned to WA after two years working overseas at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, England, and the Cork University Hospital in Ireland. She has also worked at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Plastic Surgery.
Brown, Vaghella to Realmark
Realmark real estate group's Applecross office has appointed Melissa Brown (far right) and Rashvinder Vaghella as agency administrators. Ms Brown joins the company with more than five years real estate experience in Perth and Ms Vaghella has extensive overseas experience in corporate administration.
McKenzie Moncrieff moves
Jamie Ogilvie has been appointed as a solicitor for McKenzie Moncrieff Lawyers in the firm's corporate division. Mr Ogilvie was previously managing director of Online Media Network and is a former regional commissioner of ASIC (WA). Cassia Lovel has commenced employment as a resources and corporate lawyer. Chris Pearce has been promoted to associate within the insolvency and reconstruction practice.
