Thomas returns to Seashells
Gareth Thomas has been appointed as group general manager at hospitality management company Seashells Hospitality Group. Mr Thomas was previously operations director at Seashells for two years before spending 10 months with National Lifestyle Villages as general manager – village services. Prior to this, he worked in senior positions across major hotels, resorts and casinos in WA, Victoria, Queensland and the UK.
ICON Engineering recruits Collins
Oilfield services and engineering company ICON Engineering has appointed Russell Collins as business development manager. Mr Collins was previously a senior executive at Neptune Marine Services and prior to that, co-founded and ran his own engineering consultancy business, Subsea Developments, which was sold in 2007. Mr Collins was a winner at the WA Business News 40under40 Awards in 2009.
Frewer joins Aurecon
Paul Frewer has been appointed as project assessment manager at international engineering, management and specialist technical consultancy Aurecon. Mr Frewer previously worked for Worley Parsons and was a director at the WA Chamber of Minerals and Energy where he was responsible for infrastructure, economics, water and energy. He was also deputy director general for the Department of Planning and Infrastructure, the inaugural director general for the Department of Water in WA and a member of the WA Planning Commission.
New managers at Grant Thornton
Accounting firm Grant Thornton has appointed John Miniello (far right) and Anthony Raykos as senior managers in the privately held business division. Mr Miniello is a chartered accountant who previously owned and managed a mechanical engineering group. Mr Raykos was previously with Fogarty Partners and also worked in the UK as a management accountant.
Tokarev to Access Analytic
Financial modelling consultancy Access Analytic has appointed Yury Tokarev as a senior business analyst. Mr Tokarev was previously a senior accountant for WHK in Auckland, and has held a number of other financial positions in Russia and Germany.
Ingram joins Winteringham
Recruitment agency Winteringham has appointed Vickie Ingram as a permanent consultant. Ms Ingram was previously in the recruitment and labour hire division with her former employer and also account managed prominent national clientele.
Two new at Scotford & Fennessy
Recruitment consultancy Scotford & Fennessy has appointed Craig Stidwill as a senior recruitment consultant – occupational health, safety & environment. Mr Stidwill has worked in the industry for 11 years as both a recruitment consultant and occupational health and safety professional. Lara Harris has been appointed as a recruitment consultant – corporate support. She has previously worked in the recruitment industry for over three years.
Ceplecha to Redbank
Copper miner Redbank Copper has appointed John Ceplecha as exploration manager, following the resignation of Craig Hall. Mr Ceplecha has more than 20 years’ experience in senior positions with companies such as DeBeers, Freeport, Rio Tinto, Flinders Mines and Cameco.
Partners promoted at Deloitte
Accounting firm Deloitte has promoted six new partners in its Perth office. They are Darren Hall in the audit and advisory practice, Jamie Hamilton in consulting, Paul O’Brien in risk services, David Ocello in corporate and international tax, Jonathan Schneider in corporate and international tax, and Ron Van Beek in research and development tax services.
Changes at Kalgoorlie Mining
Christopher Daws has been appointed as chief executive officer of gold and nickel producer Kalgoorlie Mining Company, which has recently changed its name from US Nickel.
