Brasington to head PwC Perth
Nick Brasington will replace John O’Connor as managing partner of accounting firm PwC’s Perth practice on July 1. Mr Brasington’s past experience includes working in Moscow for 10 years, where he was the managing partner of assurance and advisory for Central and Eastern Europe. Mr O’Connor will remain as an audit partner at PwC.
Sudano promoted at brewer
Beverage and hospitality company Little World Beverages has appointed Melbourne-based Ross Sudano as chief executive officer, reporting to the board of directors. He was previously the company’s chief operating officer, where he had reported to executive director Nic Trimboli and received additional brand and technical support from fellow founding partners Howard Cearns and Phil Sexton.
Strizek to Vital Metals
Mark Strizek has been appointed as chief executive officer of gold and tungsten developer Vital Metals. Mr Strizek was previously general manager, exploration, at Iron Ore Holdings, and director of geology and exploration at Mineralogy.
New hires at Minter Ellison
Law firm Minter Ellison Perth has appointed Lucas Keogh (top right) as a senior associate in the corporate division focusing on construction, engineering and infrastructure. Mr Keogh was previously an engineer and a dispute resolution lawyer. Emily O’Mahony has been appointed as a lawyer in the construction team and has background in the mining and resources sector. Kevin Barlow has been appointed as a lawyer in the energy and resources team, and is experienced in commercial transactions.
Griffiths joins Watco WA
Jim Griffiths has been appointed as chief operating officer of Watco WA, the new WA rail operation of American transportation provider Watco Companies, set up to build and operate a new locomotive fleet for grain handler CBH Group. Mr Griffiths was previously the executive general manager of marketing and business development for UGL Rail in North Sydney.
New managers at Image Resources
Mineral sands explorer Image Resources has appointed Per Scrimshaw of Creative Mined Enterprises as development manager. Alan Luscombe of Lassin Services has been appointed as manager mineral process design. He was previously general manager, Coburn Mineral Sand project for Gunson Resources, and has also worked for RGC Mineral Sands.
Rear to Allion Legal
Law firm Allion Legal has appointed Simon Rear as a principal in its corporate practice group. He was previously at Corrs Chambers Westgarth and, before that, at Herbert Smith in the UK.
Hua takes on arts role
Dongyi Hua has been appointed as a national councillor at the Australia Business Arts Foundation. Dr Hua is currently the executive chairman of CITIC Pacific Mining. FJM Property has also joined as a state councillor company.
Wall joins Metrix Consulting
West Perth based business consultancy Metrix Consulting has appointed Susan Wall as business director. Ms Wall was previously a senior account director at Synovate (formerly Market Equity), and specialises in qualitative research.
Eaton manages Directions
Not-for-profit employment and training organisation Directions has appointed Hailey Eaton (nee Brook) as manager for the Goldfields region. Ms Eaton was previously at Pindan College (formerly Australian Technical College – Pilbara) in Karratha and before that was a lecturer with the Vocational Training and Education Centre in Kalgoorlie.
New GM at Parmelia Hilton
Brett Christ has been appointed as general manager at the Parmelia Hilton Perth hotel. Mr Christ was previously the general manager of Hilton Melbourne Airport, which was sold earlier this year, and has worked with Hilton Worldwide for 18 years.
Gough to Nexus Risk Services
West Perth-based insurance broker Nexus Risk Services has appointed Steven Gough as account executive.
