Lee to head Birchman and Beacon
Brian Lee has been appointed as managing partner WA for management consultancy Birchman and Beacon Western Australia. Mr Lee was previously the regional general manager for CSG and, before that, was chief executive officer of UnisysWest, chief information officer of Western Power, and was a former partner with KPMG.
Hall heads Tourism Council
WA’s peak tourism lobby group, Tourism Council WA, has appointed Evan Hall as chief executive officer. Mr Hall was previously national manager tourism and policy director of the Tourism and Transport Forum, and replaces outgoing CEO Graham Moss, who has been in the role for three years.
New board members at Anglicare
Erica Haddon and John O’Connor have been appointed to the board of directors of community service provider Anglicare WA. Ms Haddon is currently the executive general manager shared services at the RAC WA, is a chartered accountant, and has previously worked at Wesfarmers and Argyle Diamonds. Mr O’Connor is the managing partner of PwC in Perth, and was previously the joint global audit partner for Rio Tinto.
Whittington to Peel
Health Solutions (WA), which has the contract for the Peel Health Campus, has appointed Angela Whittington as chief operating officer. Ms Whittington was previously the chief executive officer of Imaging the South/Global Diagnostics, and a winner of the 2007 WA Business News 40under40 award.
Changes at Pindan
Mark Thompson has been promoted to director of Pindan’s construction division. Mr Thompson was previously director of the projects division and has worked at the building and construction company for 19 years. Simon Greenlaw has left his role of construction/contracts manager to become operations manager of the construction division.
Stephens joins Heritage Council
John Stephens has been appointed to a four-year term at the Heritage Council of WA. Professor Stephens is a teacher in the School of the Built Environment at Curtin University and has a long history of volunteer work with various aspects of WA history, most recently at the RSL and the Army Museum of WA.
Growing teams at Lavan Legal
Law firm Lavan Legal has appointed Matthew Roberts as a senior associate in the corporate services team. Mr Roberts has previously worked for Clayton Utz, Allion Legal and international firm Maples and Calder. Nada Maltaric has been appointed as an associate in the intellectual property team. Ms Maltaric was previously at Wrays Lawyers and prior to that, at Corrs Chambers Westgarth in Melbourne. Natalie Mogridge has been appointed as a restricted practitioner in the corporate services team, having previously worked at the Economic Regulation Authority and the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.
Nguyen to IRDI Legal
Law firm IRDI Legal has appointed Caitlin Nguyen as a lawyer in its commercial litigation team. Ms Nguyen was previously at Gadens Lawyers.
Henn joins HHG Legal
Law firm HHG Legal has appointed Thomas Henn as tax and superannuation counsel. Mr Henn was previously with Tax Lawyers Australia, and will assist clients with matters including ATO issues, trust reviews, complex capital gains tax advice and business restructuring.
Mitchells recruits Neve
Media agency Mitchell & Partners has appointed Debra Neve as group business director. Ms Neve was previously managing director of Initiative for 16 years and prior to this, started Perth’s first independent media buying consultancy, Media Specialists.
