Beeson heads PCB
The Perth Convention Bureau has promoted Paul Beeson to the role of chief executive officer, following the resignation last month of Christine Allen as managing director. Mr Beeson was previously the director of business development at the bureau and last month was named ‘business development person of the year’ by the business tourism industry’s peak body, Meetings and Events Australia. The PCB board has decided to change the title of managing director to chief executive officer to bring the bureau into line with bureaus in other capital cities.
Murphy to Richardson
Ryan Murphy has been appointed to the position of co-director of Richardson Strata Management, joining existing director Karen Richardson. Mr Murphy has worked in the banking industry in the area of relationship management for the past 15 years. Richardson Strata was founded in 1982 by Ms Richardson, who currently manages properties across WA, including in Broome, Port Hedland, Karratha, and across the Perth metro area.
Choo joins Precedent
Shaun Choo has been appointed as a project manager in the Perth office of strategic digital communications agency Precedent. Mr Choo was previously an online services project coordinator and prior to that, an online consultant, at Curtin University of Technology.
Venture managers
Perth-based mineral explorer Venture Minerals has appointed Grant Brock as chief operating officer, responsible for the development of the Mt Lindsay tin project in Tasmania, from the completion of the bankable feasibility study through construction, commissioning and into production. Mr Brock was previously general manager of Aberfoyle in Tasmania, executive director and chief operating officer at Allied Gold, and chief operating officer at Avalon Minerals. Venture Minerals has also appointed Geoff Beros as general manager of metallurgy. Mr Beros was previously responsible for project development in numerous iron ore operations, with Rio Tinto, Robe River and BHP Billiton, and most recently was general manager of processing at Bauxite Resources.
Growth at Comscentre
Business telecommunications service provider Comscentre has promoted Paul Glass from business development manager to the position of Western Australian state manager. Mr Glass has worked in telecommuni-cations business development for more than five years. Comscentre has also appointed Trent O’Callaghan as senior network engineer responsible for engineering, project installations and post-sales support. In recent years Mr O’Callaghan has worked for the WA Newspapers Group, Nearmap and Alphawest.
