Paton heads Plexal
Independent engineering company Plexal Group has appointed Dean Paton (pictured) as chief executive officer. He is one of the winners of this year’s WA Business News 40under40 Awards. Former CEO Steve Jones has taken on the role of executive chairman with a strong focus around the group’s strategic growth plans. The changes have also allowed executive director Len Bunn to increase his focus on project delivery and client solutions.
CBH Group directors retained
Directors Clancy Michael (pictured), Vern Dempster and Wally Newman have been re-elected to the board of grain handler and marketer CBH Group. Mr Michael won his District 1 seat over competitor Michael O’Callaghan, while the other two directors were re-elected unopposed in District 2 and 4, respectively. Mr Michael currently farms at Mingenew and was the inaugural vice chairman of the Mingenew Irwin Group. Mr Dempster has previously held positions with the WA Farmers Federation and United Farmers Co-operative. Mr Newman has served on the Lake Grace Shire and International Agricultural Exchange Association.
Property Council elects Pinkerton
The Property Council of Australia has elected Lee Pinkerton as the WA division president for a two-year term. He is currently the general manager of Cape Bouvard Investments. Evan Campbell, chief executive officer of Mirvac WA, has been re-elected as vice president.
New ERA committee members
The Economic Regulation Authority has appointed nine members to the ERA Consultative Committee for the next three years. They include the WA Chamber of Minerals and Energy, Small Enterprise Network and Property Council. The Department of Commerce and WA’s Energy Ombudsman have been confirmed as observers.
Martin to Lawfield
Ryan Martin has joined Lawfield Legal Practice as a graduate lawyer. He is a recent graduate from Edith Cowan University and has a particular interest in commercial law.
Pougnault joins Mindax
WA iron, uranium, gold and copper miner Mindax has appointed chartered accountant Christopher Pougnault as its inaugural chief financial officer. He was previously a senior manager at Deloitte and has also held positions at accounting firm Pitcher Partners and Bankwest.
Brockbank to Nomad
Nomad Building Solutions has appointed Mike Brockbank as general manager of its wholly owned subsidiary manufacturer and builder Rapley Wilkinson. He was previously the Gorgon project manager at Ausco Modular and operations manager at Arccon Design
