Howarth steps down from Bank of Qld
Tony Howarth has resigned as deputy chairman of the Bank of Queensland's board of directors due to other commitments. Mr Howarth is on the board of Wesfarmers. He is also the chairman of St John of God Health Care and is an Adjunct Professor at UWA.
Coote bosses quit after takeover
Dale Elphinstone has taken over as chairman of Coote Industrial after his Tasmanian company Elph effectively took control. Managing director Michael Coote (pictured) and chief executive Don Patterson have quit in the wake of the takeover. Mr Coote will stay on as a consultant for the next 12 months. Vince De Santis has since been appointed managing director.
McBain resigns from Carbon Conscious
The founder and initial developer of Carbon Conscious Andrew McBain has resigned as a non-executive director of the company. In a statement Mr McBain said he was stepping down to pursue other business interests. He will be replaced on the board by Trevor Stoney (pictured). Last month Mr McBain also stepped down as managing director of agricultural investment company AACL.
Paganin parts with Euroz
Euroz Securities has announced current senior executive Doug Young (pictured) will replace Karl Paganin as head of corporate finance. Mr Paganin had been with Euroz for eight years. Sources within the business suggest Euroz management and Mr Paganin had disagreed on the strategic direction of corporate finance operations.
Fisher to Lawfield
Lorraine Fisher has joined Lawfield Legal Practice as a senior lawyer. Ms Fisher has previously worked for Hotchkin Hanley and Allens Arthur Robinson where she was a senior associate.
Counsel’s national role
Delaware North Companies Australia has appointed Brad Counsel as national general manager of operations, travel and hospitality services. Mr Counsel is currently the general manager for WA and SA. Based in Perth, Mr Counsel’s expanded role will cover DNC operations in all major airport locations within Australia.
Johnson, Ruprecht Armadale posts
Charles Johnson has been appointed as chairperson and John Ruprecht as deputy chairperson of Armadale Redevelopment Authority. Mr Johnson is the principal of Planning Context and was formerly the executive director of strategic policy and research at the Department of Planning. Mr Ruprecht is currently the executive director of agricultural resources risk management at the Department of Agriculture and Food.
WHK Horwath changes
WHK Horwath has made a series of senior appointments to their Perth team. Emma Barns (pictured), a tax manager with WHK Horwath for seven years, has been promoted to associate principal, tax consulting and Sarang Halai, an audit manager for three, has been promoted to associate principal, audit. Joe Graziano, Alan Thomas, Mark De Luca and Paul Fazzari have been appointed as principals, business advisory services. All four were previously principals with Hayes Knight.
Wood & Grieve moves
Wood & Grieve Engineers has appointed Jose Granado as national building services co-ordinator, while Brett Davis has been appointed as Perth building services manager. Mr Granado previously headed the consulting engineering team for the Fiona Stanley Hospital.
Cooper Mortgage Choice manager
Mortgage Choice has appointed Phil Cooper to the position of state manager for Western Australia. Mr Cooper most recently worked at Defense Housing Australia as state manager/portfolio manager.
Huntly to manage exploration
Minerals exploration company Hannans Reward has appointed Donald Huntly as exploration manager. Mr Huntly is an experienced geologist having held senior exploration positions with Xstrata Nickel Australasia, Jubilee Mines, Goldfields of South Africa (Agnew Gold Operation) and WMC Resources (Leinster Nickel operation).
Manners CFO of Bathurst Resources
Bathurst Resources has appointed Tim Manners as chief financial officer and Steve O’Dea as executive general manager of planning and technical services. Mr Manners most recently held the position of chief financial officer at Perilya. Mr O’Dea is a mining engineer with more than 20 years’ experience.
Collgar Wind Farm boost
Collgar Wind Farm, which is developing a 206-megawatt wind farm near Merredin, has appointed Alistair Craib as chief executive officer. Mr Craib was previously part of the project acquisition team at banking group, UBS. Michael Gilmore has been appointed chief technical officer. Mr Gilmore has more than 40 years’ experience in the construction industry. Natalie Dawson has been appointed chief financial officer. Ms Dawson has held senior management roles with Macmahon Holdings Ltd, Rio Tinto and Clough Ltd. Heidi Spitzer has been appointed stakeholder and office manager.
MatchPoint for Wilson
Rob Wilson has joined project approval and bid specialist, MatchPoint Consulting, as director. Rob brings 18 years experience of winning and managing major capital projects with international investment banking and engineering majors. Most recently he was director with Macquarie Capital Funds in South Africa.
