Read appointed to LandCorp
Financial consultant Simon Read has joined the board of directors at LandCorp. Until recently, Mr Read was a partner at McGrathNicol and now provides advice on financial and banking relations on behalf of Birch Advisory. Mr Read will bring a range of diverse skills gained from a 26-year career to the LandCorp Board and its future growth.
Radisch resigns from COSBOA
Former Western Australian Labor politician Jaye Radisich has resigned from the chief executive position at the Council of Small Business of Australia. Ms Radisich’s departure comes some 15 months after she was appointed to the role and comes into effect this Friday. Chairman Richard Brooks said the COSBOA board has already started the selection process for a replacement chief executive.
Rowley to chair desalination centre
Former Fortescue Metals Group executive director of operations Graeme Rowley has been announced as the inaugural independent chair of the National Centre of Excellence in Desalination. The centre is funded by a $20 million commitment from the Australian government under its Water for the Future program with additional funding from the state government.
NRW founder resigns
NRW Holdings founding managing director and chief executive Jeffrey McGlinn will step down from the company after more than 13 years. Mr McGlinn said his resignation allows him to pursue other personal and private business interests. He intends to remain a substantial shareholder in NRW for the foreseeable future. NRW chief operating officer Julian Pemberton will takeover as chief executive from July 7.
New Sandfire chairman
Sandfire Resources has appointed corporate and commercial lawyer Derek La Ferla as non-executive chairman. Mr La Ferla is a senior corporate partner of Norton Rose at its Perth office and has worked closely with the boards and management of many public, private and statutory corporations. Sandfire said it intended to appoint additional non-executive directors to help guide the company through its corporate and development strategy.
Duncan joins DFP Recruitment
DFP Recruitment Services has appointed Kate Duncan as state manager WA. Ms Duncan will bring 30 years' experience in the recruitment industry to the role and has specialised in operations and state management.
Turvey to Continental Coal
Lodewyk Turvey has joined Continental Coal as chief executive officer. Mr Turvey has more than 25 years' experience in the South African coal mining industry and has held senior management positions with BHP Billiton Energy Coal, Delmas Colliery and Koornfontein Mines.
New Credo role for Hawkins
Recruitment specialist Credo Group has appointed one of its pre-existing directors, Luke Hawkins, to a hands-on consultancy role. Mr Hawkins will be focused on recruitment in the resources industry, particularly engineering, project management, procurement and construction areas. He has held the roles of state manager, senior consultant and director at the company for five years and has worked previously for Lloyd Morgan and the Integrated Group.
Hembrough CCI media contact
Allison Hembrough has been appointed as primary media contact for the Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA. Ms Hemborough will replace David Harrison, who has moved in to the role of general manager advocacy for CCI.
Peritus growing in Asia Pacific
Peritus International has appointed Thyl Kint as its global head of floating systems and David Kennare as director of operations. Peritus' Perth office is the Asia Pacific head quarters. Peritus provides advanced subsea and floating systems engineering and project management services toprojects with a particular focus on difficult and deepwater environments.
Street to Stott and Hoare
Garrett Street has joined Stott and Hoare as business development manager. Mr Street has experience in networking and virtualisation, and has expertise in Cisco, HP and IBM technology. He will have a particular focus on determining the best available products to integrate with customers' existing IT infrastructure.
Fuller joins Navitas
Global education services provider Navitas has appointed James Fuller to the new role of group manager public relations. Mr Fuller has extensive experience having recently headed up public relations at Edith Cowan University. He brings prior experience in the health, consultancy andpharmaceutical sectors to the role.
Thomas makes Scandinavian move
Scandinavian Resources has appointed Paul Thomas as a non-executive director. Mr Thomas has extensive development and operational experience from his 25 years in the mining industry. Mr Thomas has held management and executives roles with ASX listed gold and base metal mining companies.
