New Alcoa role for Horne
Alcoa of Australia executive director for people, environmental and corporate affairs Kim Horne has been appointed vice president human resources for Alcoa Global Primary Products. Mr Horne will divide his time between New York and Australia where he will continue to have executive responsibility for leading the Regional Centre of Expertise. In his expanded role, he will coordinate worldwide GPP Human Resources.
Rowley steps back at FMG
Founding director Graeme Rowley (pictured) will retire as the executive director of Fortescue Metals Group. Mr Rowley, who along with Andrew Forrest is Fortescue’s longest serving executive, has assisted the transition of the company from a construction project to a fully commissioned operation. He has transferred his responsibilities to Paul Hallam who, as director of operations, is now fully responsible for all operational matters. Mr Rowley will continue as a non-executive director on Fortescue’s board.
Brockwell heads to Compass
Christopher Brockwell has been appointed to the board of directors of the Compass Hotel Group. Mr Brockwell is currently the managing director of the Brockwell Family Group of Hotels, which owns and operates a number of hotels and pubs in Perth, including the Elephant & Wheelbarrow, Fenians and Rosie O’Gradys. After the departure of three of the company’s directors last year, Mr Brockwell will assist with the recapitalisation of Compass and setting the strategic direction.
