Hicks joins NWQ
Sharon Hicks has been appointed as partner and co-chief investment officer of Perth-based alternative asset manager NWQ Capital Management. Ms Hicks stepped down from her role as chief investment officer of WA’s Government Employees Superannuation Board earlier this year. Prior to joining GESB in 2000 she worked with several investment houses including Merrill Lynch and DJ Carmichael.
Reynolds chairs WAITOC
Nudju man and Esperance resident Ronald Reynolds has been elected as chair of the Western Australian Indigenous Tourism Operators’ Council, to replace Neville Poelina, who has served his maximum four-year term. Mr Reynolds was previously an Esperance Shire councillor, chairperson of the Aboriginal Lands Trust, and president of the Aboriginal Legal Service of WA.
Promotions at Munro’s
Independent Perth accounting firm Munro's Accountants and Business Advisors has promoted Christine Prasetia from principal to director. Ms Prasetia has experience in taxation, accounting, superannuation, estate planning and other business advisory services. Ben Paul has been promoted to principal. Mr Paul joined Munro’s in 2010 and has more than 10 years' experience providing accounting and taxation services to clients.
Connaughton to MBA WA
The Master Builders Association of WA has appointed Gavin Connaughton as its inaugural regional operations manager. Mr Connaughton was previously vice-president of Pioneer Water Tanks, and state regional business manager of BlueScope Water.
Telethon’s Clay heads ARMS
Moira Clay has been appointed as president of the Australasian Research Management Society, a body designed to support research administrators and managers across Australia and the Asia Pacific region. Professor Clay is currently director of academic and research services at the Telethon Institute for Child Health Research.
Jones to CFC
Transport and logistics firm CFC Group has appointed Luke Jones as group commercial manager. Mr Jones was most recently a senior analyst at Deloitte’s Perth office advisory division, and previously worked in advisory and corporate finance for Marwick and Co in South Africa.
Moir promoted at Interpeople
Simon Moir has been appointed as division manager of professional services at specialist recruitment and migration firm Interpeople. Mr Moir joined the firm about a year ago as a senior consultant, and was previously a private consultant in the digital media and marketing fields.
Flynn back to JLL
Sean Flynn has been appointed as manager, sales and investments, WA at commercial real estate firm Jones Lang LaSalle in Perth. He rejoins JLL’s sales and investments team after three years as development manager and national sales and marketing manager at a national land development company.
Cropley to Aurenda
Mary Cropley has been appointed as principal consultant at independent work injury risk management consultancy Aurenda. Ms Cropley was previously principal of Willis Australia and managing principal of Marsh Risk Consulting.
Forest joins Condoto
Condoto Platinum has appointed David Forest as chief operating officer, to oversee the company’s gold and platinum exploration operations in Colombia. Mr Forest is managing director of Notela Resource Advisors.
