Ferrier chief at GWR
Craig Ferrier has been appointed as chief executive officer of Golden West Resources, which is focused on developing its iron and gold projects in WA's Mid West region. Mr Ferrier joined GWR in late 2011 as executive general manager, and prior to that was chief financial officer at Grange Resources and Aurox Resources.
Abberton partner at Lavan
WA law firm Lavan Legal has appointed Joe Abberton as a partner from April 1. Mr Abberton was most recently a senior associate in the recovery, insolvency and reconstruction team. Before joining the firm in 2007, he worked for the former PPB partnership (now McGrathNicol).
Belbin to Rox
Will Belbin has been appointed as exploration manager at minerals explorer Rox Resources. Mr Belbin has been the company's senior exploration geologist since 2011, and before that was a senior exploration geologist for Newexco Services.
Bignell to Fortis
Fortis Consulting has appointed Danielle Bignell to the newly created role of marketing and business development manager. Ms Bignell was previously marketing and communications manager at Arup for eight years, and before that was marketing coordinator at Alphawest.
Kempson joins Heron
Kalgoorlie nickel explorer Heron Resources has appointed Charlie Kempson as general manager, strategy and business development.
Mr Kempson was most recently an equity partner and director of Azure Capital.
Before his arrival in Australia in 2002, he was business manager, derivatives at Commerzbank AG and an analyst at Barclays Capital in London and Germany.
Smyth retains ANSTO role
Erica Smyth has been reappointed as a part-time member of the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation board for a further five years, after being initially appointed in 2008. Dr Smyth is currently chairman of Toro Energy,
Scitech, ScreenWest and the Diabetes Research Foundation of WA. She has previously held senior executive roles at BHP Billiton and Woodside Petroleum. ANSTO operates the country's only nuclear research reactor and provides more than 500,000 patient doses of nuclear medicines to Australians each year.
Macleod rejoins Rynat
Toilet partitioning manufacturer Rynat Industries Australia has appointed John Macleod as general manager.
Mr Macleod previously worked for three years as contracts administrator and site supervisor at Commercial Design Interiors specialising in commercial fit-outs. Before that, he was an estimator/project coordinator at Rynat.
Ardagh joins national NGO
Australian Institute of Company Directors WA division manager Suzanne Ardagh has been appointed to the Opportunity International Australia board of directors. The Sydney-based non-profit organisation uses microfinance and community development programs to help address poverty in developing countries.
Davison at Vend
Real estate firm Vend Property has appointed Paul Davison as sales and leasing manager. Mr Davison has moved to Perth from the UK, where he was most recently real estate manager for Starbucks Coffee Company with responsibility for acquiring sites on bulky goods retail parks.
