NAB’s Mackenzie moves to WA
The National Australia Bank has appointed Abby Mackenzie as regional executive retail for regional north Western Australia, to lead the 13 NAB stores and eight agencies across the region including Geraldton, Karratha, Port Hedland and Narrogin. Ms Mackenzie has previously worked in both metro and rural environments for the bank in Queensland during the past six years, including two years in Gladstone.
Russell joins OTOC
David Russell has been appointed as general manager of mining services contractor OTOC Australia. Mr Russell is an engineer with executive general management and project management experience in the resources, construction and engineering fields.
Finch GM at Port Hedland
The Port Hedland Port Authority has appointed John Finch as general manager operations, to replace Lindsay Copeman, who has been with the port authority since 2001. Mr Finch was previously harbour master at PHPA and has also held harbour master roles in the Queensland ports of Gladstone, Mackay, and Townsville.
Cronstedt to manage bushfires
Mal Cronstedt has been appointed as director of the Office of Bushfire Risk Management, to oversee changes to WA’s prescribed burns program. Mr Cronstedt was recently also appointed as chief superintendent country south for the Fire and Emergency Services Authority of WA.
New advisers at Stellar
Peter Russell and Leigh Hilhorst have been appointed as client advisers at Perth broking and corporate advisory firm Stellar Securities. Mr Hilhorst was previously an investment adviser at DJ Carmichael.
Matheson to Norseman
WA miner Norseman Gold has appointed Andrew Matheson as chief operating officer for its principal operating subsidiary, Central Norseman Gold Corporation. Mr Matheson has previously worked for Aquila Resources, BHP Billiton and GHD.
Carter joins Aquenta
Quantity surveyors Aquenta Consulting has appointed David Carter to its Perth team as principal and national sector leader for oil and gas. Mr Carter was previously a contracts engineer on Chevron’s Gorgon LNG project.
Goodall heads AccountAbility
Angela Goodall has been appointed as director of the newly opened Perth office of AccountAbility, an accounting support recruitment specialist firm. Ms Goodall was previously head of contracting at Beilby Consulting and prior to that, was executive manager at Ranstad.
Hayes heads Media Stable
Media consultant Nicholas Hayes has closed down his public relations consultancy to open Media Stable, an online directory of experts, industry leaders and business commentators for people working in the media.
Findlay to Recruitment Partners
Lisa Findlay has been appointed as a senior consultant at boutique employment services firm Recruitment Partners. Ms Findlay specialises in the recruitment of management and technical professionals to the resources and construction industries.
Fernandes to Synchron
Boutique financial services provider Synchron has appointed Bernie Fernandes as WA state manager. Mr Fernandes was previously state manager for Accountancy Insurance and Mortgage Choice.
Perth partner for CFO On-Call
Shaun Prescott has been appointed as a Perth-based partner of CFO On-Call. Mr Prescott was previously an accountant with Coopers & Lybrand.
Harris to Scotford & Fennessy

New cancer board directors
Breast Cancer Care WA (formerly Breast Cancer Foundation of WA) has appointed Ralph Winter, Jane Loring and Bonnie Bullock to its board of directors. Mr Winter is currently a non-executive director at Moho Resources, and Mrs Loring is an organisational psychologist and lecturer in the Curtin University School of Psychology. Ms Bullock is the director of Saranac PR.
