Bourke to AGC
Major operating subsidiary of AusGroup, AGC Industries, has appointed Michael Bourke as executive general manager - operations. Mr Bourke joined the construction and fabrication company in October 2012 as acting general manager - fabrication. He has worked in the construction and resource industry in Australia and internationally and was most recently Nomad Buildings Solutions' managing director. Last week, AGC was awarded additional fabrication work to the value of about $20 million on the Chevron-operated Gorgon project, taking the total contract value to more than $70 million.
Kift joins Yirra Yaakin
Not-for-profit Aboriginal arts organisation Yirra Yaakin Theatre has appointed Peter Kift as general manager. Mr Kift is currently the president of Kulcha - multicultural arts of WA and replaces outgoing general manager Dickon Oxenburgh. Mr Kift has extensive experience as an accountant and manager and 30 years' experience in the not-for-profit, private, government and community sectors. He will officially take the position on February 18.
RSM promotes Paterson
WA accounting firm RSM Bird Cameron has appointed Ross Paterson as a principal. Mr Paterson was previously a senior manager at the firm, and is based in the Fremantle office providing business advisory and taxation advice to small and mediumsized business owners. He also oversees the management of the firm's Esperance office.
Ashton up at institute
Chartered accountant and company director Mel Ashton has been appointed 2013 deputy president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia in WA. Mr Ashton was admitted as a member of the institute in 1984 and was appointed to the board in 2009. He will assist the 2013 president, Tim Gullifer.
New at Phoenix
Former Bathurst Resources chief financial officer and company secretary Tim Manners has been appointed chief financial officer at exploration company Phoenix Gold. Mining engineer Grant Haywood has been appointed as general manager - projects and has held similar management roles with Saracen Gold Mines and Norton Gold Fields. Ian Copeland has been promoted from geology manager to general manager - exploration and Steven Jones has been appointed as a dedicated resource geology manager.
Thibodeaux Apache MD
Apache Corporation has promoted Faron Thibodeaux to the role of Apache Energy managing director and region vicepresident for the company's Perth-based Australian operating unit. Mr Thibodeaux was formerly Apache Energy director of operations in Perth. Previous managing director Thomas Maher will lead Apache's operations in Egypt. Mr Thibodeaux joined Apache in 2008, and previously worked for Chevron and Unocal in engineering and management positions.
O’Sullivan joins Veev Group
Business consultancy firm Veev Group has appointed Lindsay O’Sullivan as a non-executive director. Mr O'Sullivan is currently Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA's chief officer for business solutions, a board member for not-for-profit arts organisation Artrage and is a previous WA Business News 40under40 winner.
Doric gains Bradshaw
Construction contractor Doric Group has appointed Keith Bradshaw as tenders and proposals director. Mr Bradshaw has held several project manager roles for a number of organisations across Australia, Africa,Indonesia and the UK.
Scotford & Fennessy posts
Kyle Evans has been appointed as a senior consultant for recruitment agency Scotford & Fennessy Executive Search and Consulting. Mr Evans was previously a senior consultant with Stella Recruitment. Natalie Whittle returns from maternity leave to continue recruiting corporate support roles for the mining and construction sectors in WA.
Macklin an associate
Architecture and interior design firm Cameron Chisholm Nicol has appointed Grant Macklin as an associate. Mr Macklin has over 25 years' experience in the design industry and was previously an associate at Woodhead.
Francke promoted at CBH
WA grain handler CBH Group has appointed Samantha Francke to the role of media and communications manager. Ms Francke has been with CBH for seven years, most recently as marketing communications adviser, and has previously worked at the WA Farmers Federation.
