HFW recruits Edwardes
International law firm Holman Fenwick Willan has recruited Cheryl Edwardes to its Perth office as a partner in the corporate, projects & finance practice. Ms Edwardes was previously executive general manager – external affairs, government relations and approvals at Hancock Prospecting, where she helped to secure most of the necessary government and regulatory approvals for the company’s major mining and infrastructure projects, including the Roy Hill Mine Rail and Port, as well as other Hancock coal developments. Prior to this, Ms Edwardes was WA’s longest serving female state government minister, including her time as the state’s first female attorney-general and environment minister.
Donaldson new solicitor general
Grant Donaldson has been appointed as the solicitor general for WA. In this role Mr Donaldson provide the state with legal and constitutional advice, and to appear in High Court litigation in which the state is involved. Mr Donaldson has practised as a barrister at Francis Burt Chambers since 1998 and was appointed senior counsel in 2004. The former solicitor general Robert Meadows retired last July, and Robert Mitchell has been acting in the position since then.
Warme joins Kagara
Paul Warme has been appointed to the executive committee of metals explorer Kagara as executive general manager, finance. Mr Warme was previously general manager, business evaluation for Rio Tinto in London. Cameron McLean has been promoted to general manager commercial and company secretary.
Veth joins Archae-aus
Peter Veth has been appointed as senior heritage adviser at WA cultural heritage management firm Archae-aus. Mr Veth is currently professor of archaeology at the University of Western Australia, having recently moved back to his home state from Canberra, where he taught at the Australian National University.
Jafferies, Mears fashion fest
Dome Coffees Australia founder Patria Jafferies (top right) has joined the Perth Fashion Festival advisory board as director of business development. Amy Mears, previously sponsorship manager for the 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships, has been appointed as business development/sponsorship manager.
MacDonald makes Oracle move
Oracle Group Insurance Brokers has appointed Nicholas MacDonald as an associate account manager. Mr MacDonald previously worked at GIO as a business insurance specialist.

Boutique financial services firm HPH Solutions has appointed Randall Stout as a private client adviser. Mr Stout was previously a financial adviser at Wealth Wise, director at Flinders Financial Services and HEC Financial Solutions, and manager financial planning at National Australia Bank.

Employment services firm Torque Recruitment has appointed Kaye Green as business development manager. Ms Green was previously the principal at Kaye Green Consulting and a senior consultant at Stealth Recruitment.
