Murphy chairs WSAA
Sue Murphy has been appointed as chair of the Water Services Association of Australia, replacing Sydney Water managing director Kevin Young. Ms Murphy is currently chief executive officer of the Water Corporation of Western Australia, and a member of the UWA Business School board.
New KordaMentha practice
Insolvency practitioner KordaMentha has appointed Jarrod Baker as director and Grant Whiteley as associate director of a new forensics practice in Perth. Both were previously with a ‘Big 4’ firm. Mr Baker has also worked with the UK financial regulator, and has experience in investigations of financial statement fraud, market manipulation, employee misconduct and anti-corruption legislation. Mr Whiteley specialises in forensic technology with a background in enterprise IT support and law enforcement, including eight years with the WA Police.
Changes at convention bureau
Tracey Cinavas-Prosser has been promoted to director of membership and PR at the Perth Convention Bureau, WA’s peak industry organisation for business events, conventions, exhibitions and incentive travel groups. Ms Cinavas-Prosser has been a membership executive at the bureau for the last five years. Jacqui Roberts has been appointed to a new role of membership and PR coordinator to assist her. Trish McKay has been promoted to director of corporate services, following the resignation of Jeremey Murray. Executive assistant Liz Wessels has also been appointed as company secretary, while Antonia Santich is the new marketing coordinator.
Croll joins BAE Systems
Oil and gas, and marine fabrication company BAE Systems, a division of defence and security firm BAE Systems Australia, has appointed Paul Croll as project manager for oil and gas and resources projects. He was previously a project manager with AGC – Ausgroup and AMEC Engineering.
Harrigan, Anderson to ICON
Oilfield service company ICON Engineering has appointed Chris Harrigan as general manager finance and commercial and Robyn Anderson as general manager HR, safety and environment. Mr Harrigan was previously finance and treasury manager for Neptune Marine Services, and has also worked for Expro. Ms Anderson was previously HR business partner and manager learning and development at WorleyParsons.
Reddi to Purple
Public relations firm Purple Communications has appointed Linda Reddi as a senior consultant (government relations). Ms Reddi was previously a corporate affairs adviser at CITIC Pacific Mining.
New Supreme Court counsels
The Supreme Court of Western Australia has appointed James Thomson, Brahma Dharmananda and Joseph McGrath as senior counsel. Mr Thomson previously worked for the State Solicitors Office, primarily in the Attorney General’s office, and has been a part-time lecturer and tutor in constitutional law at UWA and Murdoch University. Mr Dharmananda has worked for Francis Burt Chambers and Mallesons Stephen Jaques, and is regularly involved in large commercial, mining or gas contractual disputes, matters involving state agreements, banking and property disputes, and insolvency matters. Mr McGrath has been the WA director of public prosecutions since 2010.
