Evans, Hicks on SW board
The South West Develop-ment Commission has appointed Ngalang Boodja Council Aboriginal Corporation CEO Louis Evans and East Perth Redevelopment Authority chairman Stuart Hicks to its board of management. They replace outgoing board members Posy Barnes and Patricia Hughes. Manjimup Shire president Wade De Campo has been reappointed.
Johnstone joins DLA Piper
Law firm DLA Piper has appointed Andrew Johnstone as a consultant in the Perth office until he is admitted, at which time he will join the partnership. Mr Johnstone was previously with Holman, Fenwick & Willan in the UK, and specialises in M&A, corporate finance and contracts, particularly in the oil and gas and transport sectors.
Southern Cross Care board
Real Estate Institute of WA chief executive Anne Arnold and former Bankwest executive Chris Hunt have been appointed to the board of aged care provider Southern Cross Care. Ms Arnold is a former executive director of the Urban Development Institute WA division and is currently deputy chair of the Heritage Council of WA. Mr Hunt is a former state chairman and state executive officer of the Knights of the Southern Cross in WA.
Walker to Cardno
Professional services provider Cardno has appointed Bill Walker as WA division manager. Mr Walker is an engineer who has previously held senior management positions with BG&E, WorleyParsons and GHD.
McCabe heads trades school
Ian McCabe has been promoted to chief executive officer at the Australian Trades College WA, which provides education and vocational training services.
Changes at pieNETWORKS
Internet solutions provider pieNETWORKS has appointed chief marketing officer Craig Turner as acting chief executive officer, as part of its decision to relocate its head office to Sydney. Perth-based Campbell Smith will cease his role as CEO with immediate effect.
ISA Group appoints Hillier
Immigration and overseas recruitment firm ISA Group has appointed Julie Hillier as a senior HR consultant. Ms Hillier previously worked internationally for the oil and gas industry, heavy industries and the resources industry.
Gunter joins Palace
Brett Gunter has been appointed as a geologist at minerals explorer Palace Resources, to oversee technical due diligence of the Lumpo project. Mr Gunter is president director and principal consultant for PT GMT Indonesia, and a member of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
