Airey heads REIWA

David Airey has been elected as president of the Real Estate Institute of Western Australia, following the retirement of Alan Bourke (pictured), who remains as chairman of the finance and risk management committee. Mr Airey was previously REIWA’s deputy president and president of the Real Estate Institute of Australia. Ian Cornell is REIWA’s new deputy president.

Wakefield to Torque

Recruitment and labour hire company Torque Recruitment has appointed Rod Wakefield as national manager – permanent placements. Mr Wakefield was previously the human resources manager (WA) for Conneq Infrastructure Services, and Business Development Manager at All Mine Maintenance Services.

Dique joins Pindan

Construction company Pindan has appointed Dickie Dique as director of Pindan Contracting, to oversee the company’s mining and resource construction order book. Mr Dique was previously chief operating officer at Decmil Group and was a 2009 40under40 award recipient.

Curtin’s Bentley to Victoria

Curtin Business School pro vice-chancellor Duncan Bentley has been appointed deputy vice-chancellor, planning, marketing and external affairs at Victoria University in Melbourne. Professor Bentley joined Curtin in April 2008 and before that was dean of law at Queensland’s Bond University.

Promotions at Purple Comms

PR consultancy Purple Communications has promoted Richard Harris from senior counsel – government relations to director. Karen Oswald has been promoted to account director – investor relations and Renee Wilkinson is now an account manager.

Yong to Police & Nurses

Raymond Yong has been appointed as the head of credit risk at Police & Nurses Credit Society. Mr Yong was previously the head of retail risk for BankWest and before that was BankWest’s director of strategy and investments and state manager SA & NT.

Jamieson to Metrix Consulting

Glenn Jamieson has been appointed as business director at business consultancy Metrix Consulting. Mr Jamieson was previously head of the marketing and management analytics division at Synovate (formerly Market Equity).
