Cahill heads CPA

John Cahill has been elected as the new president of accounting body CPA Australia, replacing Low Weng Keong. Mr Cahill is currently a non-executive director of Emeco Holdings and a board member of Silver Chain, and was previously CEO of Alinta Infrastructure Holdings and chief financial officer of Alinta.

Bosnich joins PwC

Accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers has appointed Mark Bosnich to its consulting team in Perth. Mr Bosnich is a specialist in performance improvement and strategic planning for major mining companies, and previously worked at Bain Consulting.

Zoo authority gets Moody

Communications expert Nicole Moody has been appointed to the Zoological Parks Authority board. Ms Moody is currently the general manager of Professional Public Relations, and replaces retiring board member Diana Warnock. 

Hampson, Buss to RBB

Commercial quantity surveyor Ralph Beattie Bosworth has appointed Mark Hampson as a director. He was previously the state manager at Aquenta. Matthew Buss has been appointed as an associate director.

Sills to Northern Minerals

Uranium and rare earth explorer Northern Minerals has appointed Robert Sills to the new position of commercial manager. Mr Sills was previously the sales and operational planning manager at Arafura Resources, and has also worked in senior commercial roles at Rio Tinto Alcan and Rio Tinto Diamonds.

Murdoch honours Furukawa

David Furukawa has been made honorary professor at Murdoch University. Mr Furukawa is the chief scientific officer at the National Centre of Excellence in Desalination Australia based in Rockingham, whose mission is to optimise and adapt desalination technology for use in Australia’s unique circumstances.

Blackwood manager at NCEDA

Mike Blackwood has been appointed as facilities manager of the National Centre of Excellence in Desalination Australia, based in WA. Mr Blackwood has overseen final construction of NCEDA’s new Rockingham desalination research facility and will manage its operations. He is the former R&D manager at Water Data Services in Adelaide and process technical operator at North West Water.

O’Shea to Super Advice

Super Advice Services has appointed Robert O’Shea to manage the retirement services division, which provides advice to those over the age of 55 and transitioning to retirement. Mr O’Shea was previously corporate advice specialist at AMP for WA, NT & South Australia.

Strickle to Ascot Quays

The Assured Ascot Quays Apartment Hotel has appointed Dylan Strickle as general manager. He was previously assistant general manager at Mantra Bunbury and general manager at Motel6 in the US.
