UWA recruits Stickells
Mark Stickells has been appointed as the deputy director for the University of Western Australia Energy and Minerals Institute, which is the gateway for industry, business and government to connect with resource-related research. Mr Stickells was previously chief executive officer of the WA Energy Research Alliance and commercial director of Future Farm Industries CRC based at UWA, and is a 2005 WA Business News 40under40 award winner.
Hartleys grows team
Financial services firm Hartleys has appointed Grant Sanderson to the corporate finance team. Mr Sanderson was previously with Ernst & Young Corporate Finance. Ben Crowley has joined as a resource analyst from Rio Tinto Iron Ore, and Chris Chong, formerly an analyst at DJ Carmichael, has joined Hartleys institutional broking.
Davey joins Marketforce
Marketing communication and advertising agency Marketforce has appointed Andrew Davey as strategic business planner. Mr Davey has eight years’ industry experience in strategic planning across several agencies in London, having worked with clients such as Heineken, L’Oreal and Marks & Spencer. He was also involved in the launch campaign of the A380 Airbus for Qantas.
Petchey to grant commission
Jeff Petchey has been appointed to the national Commonwealth Grants Commission, which is the independent umpire that makes recommendations on the distribution of GST revenue among the states and territories. Professor Petchey is the head of the School of Economics and Finance at Curtin University, and has written extensively on federalism and fiscal equalisation.
Ahmat moves to WMF
WA fertiliser group Western Mineral Fertilisers has appointed veterinarian and sustainable agriculture consultant Jenni Ahmat as animal nutrition consultant.
Prasetia principal at Munro’s
Munro’s Accountants and Business Advisors in North Perth has appointed Christine Prasetia as a principal. Ms Prasetia has more than nine years’ experience providing taxation, accounting and business service advice across a range of industries.
