Leukaemia business council
The Leukaemia Foundation WA has formed a Business Advisory Council, to offer advice and guidance for the foundation and in particular, on acquiring secure long-term accommodation for patients close to major Perth hospitals. The committee is made up of chairperson and motivational speaker/life coach Dominic Sheldrick, Chalice Gold Mines’ Tim Goyder, Wesfarmers’ Linda Kenyon, Minter Ellison Lawyers’ John Poulsen, and Atlas Iron’s David Flanagan.
Lockwood chairs Pilbara board
Karratha councillor and lawyer Nicole Lockwood (pictured) has been appointed as the new chairperson of the Pilbara Development Commission board. Ms Lockwood is president of the Shire of Roebourne and a member of the federal government’s Infrastructure Australia Council and the WA Planning Commission. Port Hedland mayor Kelly Howlett and Shire of East Pilbara president Lynne Craigie have also been appointed to the board.
Promotions at Lavan Legal
Law firm Lavan Legal has promoted three new senior associates and five associates. Mona Gill has been appointed as a senior associate in corporate services, Greg Nairn as senior associate in the construction and contracts team, and Tamara Heng in property services. Delara Sarban has been appointed as an associate in the media, defamation and privacy team, Philip Hassett as an associate in the construction and contracts team, Ben Wotherspoon in the corporate services group, Kara Thornton in the commercial advice and litigation group, and Tim Morgan in property services.

Law firm Castledine Gregory has opened for business in Perth. Partners Graham Castledine and Mark Gregory provide mediation and negotiation services, and specialise in native title, planning and environment, and regulatory law.
Byers heads APPEA
David Byers will succeed Belinda Robinson as chief executive officer of the Australian Petroleum Production & Exploration Association, which represents the upstream oil and gas industry in Australia. Mr Byers was previously chief executive of CEDA and has also worked for ExxonMobil and Woodside. He is currently an executive with Airservices Australia.
Lea joins YIPA
Emerging iron producer Radar Iron managing director Jonathan Lea has been appointed as treasurer of the Yilgarn Iron Producers Association, replacing Ivan Wu in the position.
Greive to Hemisphere
Emerging Pilbara iron ore producer Hemisphere Resources has appointed Jason Greive as general manager – project development. Mr Greive was previously general manager operations at Brockman Resources.
Yeo, Brennand join Colliers
Real estate firm Colliers International has appointed Jack Yeo, previously with Realty One, as executive, industrial agency. Richard Brennand has been appointed as operations manager in the strategic building solutions division.
