FFI director Todd Clewett resigned after he accepted a role “closer to home to spend more time with his family” but will assist with a transition out of the US-based role.
A Fortescue spokesperson confirmed the move on Monday, making Mr Clewett the latest Fortescue senior staffer to put down the tools, particularly in recent months.
Mr Clewett’s Linkedin profile describes his role as “global lead for Fortescue government and sustainability functions”.
He spent about four years with the Andrew Forrest-led company and previously held senior roles with First Quantum Minerals and Rio Tinto.
The departure of Fortescue executives has included the abrupt exit of former chief executive Fiona Hick after she was lured from Woodside Energy.
She was followed by Christine Morris, who left after three months, and former Reserve Bank deputy governor Guy Debelle, who stepped down as a non-executive director of FFI.
He joined the green team as chief financial officer in July last year but stepped down from that role after five months, citing the effects of a serious bicycle accident.
Also departing within the past three years were Fortescue’s long-serving CFO Ian Wells, his interim replacement Felicity Gooding, and long-serving non-executive director Jenn Morris.
