RESTAURANT Amuse was this week recognised as Perth’s restaurant of the year for the second consecutive year by the prestigious Restaurant and Catering Association Savour Awards.
Amuse also won best fine dining restaurant award.
The East Perth eatery was recently awarded two hats and rated number one restaurant in Western Australia by The Top 50 Restaurant Guide 2010, has two stars in the 2010 Gourmet Traveller restaurant guide (WA’s highest ranking) and was awarded three glasses in the Gourmet Traveller Wine’s wine list of the year awards.
Beaumonde was announced as caterer of the year and the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre was awarded the function centre caterer business award.
Soda café in North Beach was named best café, Mount Lawley’s Coode Street Café was given the award for best breakfast restaurant, and the Global Coffee House in South Perth was named best coffee shop/tea room.
Perth’s inner-city venues also featured, with
Mill Street’s Globe Wine Bar and Restaurant named best restaurant within a hotel, Murray Street’s The Generous Squire recognised as the best restaurant within a brew pub, and Beaufort Street’s Nahm Thai given the gong for best Thai cuisine.
The awards went predominantly to hospitality operators in the metropolitan area of Perth with only one regional restaurant being recognised – Casellas Wine Tapas Grill in Bubury named best themed restaurant.
The best small caterer in WA award was given to Chica Catering, Fraser’s Restaurant was awarded best wedding caterer and Mustard Catering was named best event caterer.
The Savour Awards recognise excellence in the restaurant and catering industry and operate nationally.
Food and wine operators recognised by the awards are listed in the RCA awards dining guide alongside other national winners.
