THE ANZ Bank's count of job vacancies advertised in WA and in Australian newspapers dipped in November, but the underlying trend growth is still positive. WA's seasonally adjusted vacancies fell by 1.7 per cent over the month, but were 28.9 per cent higher than their level a year previously, in November 2003.
Nationally, vacancies advertised in newspapers fell by 1.8 per cent over the month but rose by 4.2 per cent through the year to November.
Australia's job vacancies advertised on the internet reached a new record high in November, and the combined total of jobs advertised in print or on the internet rose by 2.8 per cent over the month and by 36 per cent through the year to November 2004.
