Automotive Holdings Group has announced the resignation of recently appointed chairman Robert McEniry, who has been diagnosed with a serious medical condition.
Mr McEniry, who is based in Melbourne, took over the role in February from David Griffiths and had served on the board of AHG since 2012.
AHG managing director John McConnell thanked Mr McEniry for his service to the company.
“His knowledge of the automotive industry has been of great value to AHG during a challenging time for the industry,” he said
“Robert is universally respected by the AHG board and executive team and his positive approach and unfailing humour will be missed.
“He was only recently appointed chairman of AHG and it is very sad that his tenure as chairman has been cut short.
“Our thoughts are with Robert, Penelope and the family during what is an extremely difficult time.”
AHG said it was considering candidates for new directors and will appoint a new chairman in due course.
Mr McEniry has resigned from all his public company directorships.
