Nedlands-based air purification company AFT Corporation Ltd has signed two contracts with British based Portsmouth Aviation for the manufacture and distribution of its products.
Under the contract, PA will become the worldwide design authority and manufacturer for AFT's odour control systems for navies, and a major promoter and distributor of the company's Microgenix products to its international customer base.
AFT chief executive officer Jim Palmer said the two companies complemented each other, and the deal would enable AFT to provide a broader product range.

July 11th, 2006 AFT Corporation Ltd is pleased to announce the signing of 2 major contracts with Portsmouth Aviation (PA), a leading manufacturer and supplier to the defence community specialising in the design and manufacture of Nuclear Biological Chemical (NBC) filtration systems, airborne stores, support equipment and munitions environmental monitoring solutions.
With over 75 years of experience in the provision of products and services to the defence industry, PA is a major contractor to the Royal Navy with a 10 year contract to support all the Royal Navy's existing ships with their latest NBC systems. The company has a significant international customer base and focuses on providing advanced, integrated design and manufacturing services and is expanding to Europe and the United States.
AFT Corporation is currently supplying Microgenix technology to the Royal Navy via the T-45 program and under the agreement PA will become the worldwide Design Authority and Manufacturer for the MBD series Odour Control systems for navies. Simon Escott, MD stated, "Sealed ships have become the norm for current and future ships for major navies around the world. Microgenix technologies complement our existing NBC filtration systems and will form a key element for our overall product offering for our existing contracts as well as our growth and expansion in Europe and the USA".

AFT and PA also announced they have signed an agreement for PA to become a key worldwide distributor for the promotion, sales and distribution of Microgenix products to select markets and customers. Martin White Operations Director for PA noted, "PA offers a complete air filtration solution to our customers who, like the Royal Navy, are among the most discerning and demanding in the world. We see Microgenix as a key part of the overall air sterilization and pathogen control system for navies worldwide.
