AEC signs technical agreement

ENGINE developer Advanced Engine Components’ Beijing-based division in China has signed a technical agree-ment with FAW Dalian Diesel Engine Company to develop an engine for use in small buses and light-duty trucks. Dalian is the engine manufacturing arm of China First Auto Works Group Corporation (FAW), a large vehicle manufacturer in China. Planning and mapping of the 3.2 litre natural gas engine has commenced with a project completion date of August 30, AEC said. The engine complies with the Euro 3 emission standard. The Dalian-AEC technical agreement is a further extension of the FAW-AEC cooperation agreement signed between the companies in 2003. The programs combine AEC’s natural gas vehicle system, technology, expertise and technical support, with FAW’s manufacturing and marketing capacity.
