Less than a week after it acquired CSR Motorcycles Spain, Perth-based scooter company Vmoto Ltd has signed an agreement to supply 3000 scooters over a 12 month period to Spanish company, Gruppo Aupper.
The Aupper order is anticipated to generate approximately €3,000,000 ($A4,800,000) turnover for Vmoto in the financial year to 30 June 2009, with a considerable profit contribution.
The first order of 300 units is scheduled to arrive in Spain late July.
The ECO 50cc scooter will be supplied to Aupper, a specialty publisher and book supplier, as a promotional item to be packaged in an ongoing sales and marketing campaign geared at high value publications, such as encyclopaedias.
This transaction had not previously been forecasted in the 12 month projections for Vmoto Europe.
Vmoto's Managing Director, Patrick Davin commented "the value and potential to be derived from the launch of Vmoto Europe is clearly demonstrated through the Aupper transaction. Carlos Sotelo and the European business development team are not only already winning business from traditional distribution channels, but also leveraging the product range in cooperative marketing efforts, such as the one evidenced with Aupper.
This innovative approach has provided Vmoto with a single order transaction that surpasses the total unit sales of the Vmoto brand in Australia in the last year and goes to show the huge potential that the European market has for us.
We plan to officially launch the Vmoto brand to Europe in Cologne, Germany, this November and I have every confidence that our European presence, headed by Carlos and his talented team, will be very successful."
Vmoto Europe General Manager, Carlos Sotelo spearheaded the Aupper deal and is currently assessing other similar long term supply agreements in Europe.
Details of other similar transactions will be announced as and when they transpire.
