Dean O’Rourke started his career with Dale Alcock Homes in 1990 as a carpentry and joinery apprentice.

After completing his apprenticeship he worked his way up the company ladder, being promoted to various construction supervisory and management positions.

During this time he gained experience in all facets of the business, from overseeing the construction of more than 220 homes in three years, recruitment, margin erosion, implementation of company policies, and improvement of quality systems of management.

In his role as building manager Mr O’Rourke is responsible for overseeing the operations of the business, which includes 152 staff and annual construction of up to 900 homes.

During his time in the role he has revisted all areas of the company, including recruitment processes, staff inductions, management training and accountability, increased turnover and profitability, and customer satisfaction.

Mr O’Rourke completed six years of part-time study, in conjunction with the required seven years practical experience, to receive his builders’ registration.

He was instrumental in designing, constructing and coordinating the Dale Alcock Homes construction of the Kinglsey Memorial Football Clubrooms to honour the seven players who died in the Bali tragedy.  Mr O’Rourke is a Housing Industry Association ‘Name and Shame’ campaign industry delegate, and part of the Building and Construction Industry Training Fund ‘Big Mouth Ambassador Scheme’.
