Geogg Greer joined the Northern Bank in Ireland as a 17-year-old cashier in 1975. During his time there he completed an accountancy degree and has since gone on to gain a raft of post graduate qualifications, including banking and trustee diplomas from the Institute of Bankers in Ireland.

Before arriving in WA

he completed a fast-track management program at Harvard Business School, Boston.

During his 28 years in banking, Mr Greer has been involved in retail banking, worked as credit controller for Northern Bank Leasing, and has held several senior corporate banking roles.

Since 1995 his experience has extended to business banking with positions including regional and divisional business manager with Yorkshire Bank, head of business financial services for Northern Bank, general manager of business financial services for both the Northern and National Irish banks and as chief operating officer for Yorkshire Bank in 2002.

Mr Greer is a proven team leader and marketeer, having overseen a 10 per cent increase in profits for Yorkshire Bank since taking the helm.

Mr Greer started his role as general manager, business financial services WA for the National Australia Bank at the start of July 2004.
