With 17 years in the industry and five and a half years as chief executive officer of Capital Partners Financial Consulting, David Andrew has confirmed his proficiency as a financial and business expert.

Mr Andrew commenced his career as a graduate trainee with National Mutual and worked in Hong Kong as an executive with National Mutual and Hong Kong Bank.

In 1994, he returned to Australia to work for a small insurance and funds management group, Tyndall Australia Limited, which was rebuilding after failures and collapse.

During this time he created a superannuation and funds management business from scratch.

In 1999 he established Capital Partners and, with time, it has grown to a team of 17 people.

Mr Andrew has been a regional councillor for the Securities Institute of WA since 2002. He has lectured at the Securities Institute of Australia since 1997 and is a lead lecturer in capstone units in financial planning.

In addition, he is a member of the National Consumer Advocacy Committee for the SIA, which has an influential role in shaping financial industry policy in Canberra, and is also a member of the National Advisory Board for MLC Alliances.

Mr Andrew believes his key successes are based on finding the right business partner.

He says that his two current partners are outstanding, however both have very different skills to his own, which serves to create an extraordinary synergy in the business.
