THE Department of Housing has nominated Diploma Group as the preferred partner for a $35 million residential and commercial development in Campbell Street in West Perth.
The proposed development will include at least 75 apartments, plus 425 square metres of commercial space on the ground floor.
Perth-based JCY Architects is responsible for the design, which has a strong focus on sustainability.
“It is our intention to ensure the building has been designed for the WA climate,” Diploma Properties general manager Armando Rossi said.
“This includes maximising natural light, encouraging cross-ventilation, orienting the building to capture prevailing breezes and introducing a building management system to minimise inappropriate ... energy consumption.”
The development is the second management agreement Diploma has entered into with the Department of Housing in recent months, the first for a residential development on Pier Street in Northbridge.
Diploma also has a $40 million mixed use development under construction at 1178 Hay Street, which will include 4,500sqm of commercial space and 33 apartments.
