Acting Electoral Commissioner Warwick Gately said the close of nominations and the ballot paper draw was the next major step in the election process following the close of the electoral roll for Victoria Park on Friday 10 February.
"At roll close there were 25,580 electors enrolled in the Victoria Park district," he said.
"This is the opportunity for those electors to have their say on who will represent them in the State Parliament.
"Just as in a State general election, voting in the by-election is compulsory and those eligible electors who do not vote may be fined."
