The Rising Stars Awards recognises and celebrates the top 10 fast-growing, private companies in Western Australia.

The programme is not just about new companies growing fast, but is open to all privately owned businesses showing fast growth. Previous winners have come a diverse range of industries, including engineering, technology, financial services, advertising, food manufacture and aged care.

The Rising Stars Awards recognises and celebrates the top 10 fast-growing, private companies in Western Australia.

The programme is not just about new companies growing fast, but is open to all privately owned businesses showing fast growth. Previous winners have come from a diverse range of industries, including engineering, technology, financial services, advertising, food manufacture and aged care.

Entry Criteria

For participation in Rising Stars 2015 an applicant must:

  • Be a private Western Australian enterprise (headquarters situated in WA)
  • Have a minimum turnover of $2m in financial year 2013/14
  • Have achieved a minimum growth of 20% during the past 3 years (from the 2010/11 to 2013/14 financial years)
  • Be able to demonstrate how the company’s positioning has been maintained from the previous year and what is being done to work towards growth in this current market
  • Exhibit growth in one or more of the following areas over recent financial years: turnover, profit and/or staffing numbers
  • Be willing to substantiate growth figures (only if required, and requested, for confirmation by the judging panel)

Start-up Category Criteria

  • Registered Western Australian companies that began trading during or after July 2011
  • Annual revenue of less than $2 million
  • Able to exhibit growth in turnover, profit, staffing numbers or digital statistics (usage, traffic, app downloads)

Note: Business News reserves the right to withdraw an award in the event that a winning company goes into administration within 12 months of having received a Business News Rising Stars award.
