Zoe Pepper

Zoe Pepper is a writer and director for film, theatre and participatory gaming. She is a recipient of Screenwest’s 2016/17 Feature Navigator program, a development track that is allowing her to write a feature script. She was also a recipient of the 2014-16 Creative Australia Fellowship to develop interactive digital experiences. In May 2017 Ms Pepper premiered her first audio work for children, Into the Jungle, at DreamBig festival in Adelaide. In 2013, she directed and co-wrote The Confidence Man which premiered at Arts House and has since secured a season with Perth Theatre Company and a national tour in 2015. She also directed and co-wrote award winning production, The Wives of Hemingway, which played as part of Perth’s Fringe World Festival 2013. In 2011-12 Ms Pepper worked with Sydney Theatre Company, developing The Lobotomist and devising/directing Fiddler’s Coin as part of the Money Shots series. In 2014 the Tamarama Rock Surfers in Sydney presented Zoe’s work, The Pride, for the show’s fifth season. The Pride played at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and was nominated for a Total Theatre Award in Innovation, Experimentation and Playing with Form and has also been presented at The Blue Room Theatre and by Perth Theatre Company. Ms Pepper has also written, directed and co-produced two short films and an online comedy short. She studied film directing at AFTRS, acting at WAAPA, and performed at the Ecole Philippe Gaulier in Paris.
