Yves Occello is a 45-year veteran of the bauxite and alumina industry, and has extensive practical and hands-on experience across the aluminium value chain from understanding bauxite resources and their specific chemical and mineralogical composition, through to the intricate technical requirements of alumina refining. Mr Occello was chief operating officer of Pechiney’s bauxite and alumina division, director of technical projects
at Alcan and Rio Tinto Alcan, and has held board positions at a number of significant companies including a conglomerate bauxite project and Guinea’s largest bauxite producer. Mr Occello is well recognised within China’s
bauxite and alumina industry and was awarded an Honorary Director of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing.
