Walter Shamu is a mining engineer with a BEng (Mining Engineering) and a Masters in Engineering (Rock Mechanics) from Curtin University, as well as a LLB (Law) from Macquarie University in Australia. He spent 12 years in the Australasian mining industry with Henry Walter Eltin, Western Mining and Gold Fields. Mr Shamu moved to South Africa in 2007 where he has held technical and corporate roles with Gold Fields, ERG and Taurus Gold on exploration projects, mine development and mining operations throughout Africa.
