Trevor O'Sullivan graduated from the University of Western Australia in 1969. He was admitted to the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 1972 and the High Court of Australia in 1987.
Mr O'Sullivan has been practising family law for more than 50 years and became an accredited Family Law Specialist in 1992. In 1999, he completed professional mediation and arbitration qualifications and and is a member of AIFLAM and Resolution Institute.
Mr O'Sullivan is a Fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers and chairs the Accreditation Committee. He is a member of the Family Law Practitioners Association of WA, having previously held several executive positions including President and Secretary. In 2013 Mr O'Sullivan became a Life Member and in 2018 was named Family Lawyer of the Year. He has served on the Executive of the Family Law Section, has written many papers, given many lectures, and is a former Chair of the Wesley College Council.
A devoted sports fan with a strong connection to the Fremantle Dockers, Mr O'Sullivan chairs the WAFL Tribunal and became a Life Member in 2020.
Prior to forming O'Sullivan Davies in 2000, Mr O'Sullivan was a partner at Clayton Utz for 15 years. Before that, he was also a partner at the firm now known as Ilberys for 10 years. He served on the executive of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia and has given numerous papers at local and national conferences, and to tertiary institutions and specialist interest groups.
