Trent O'Neill is an experienced insurance lawyer and litigator with a focus on professional indemnity, property, liability, recovery and maritime claims. He advises insurers on policy coverage and represents insurers and insureds in claims across state and federal jurisdictions. Mr O'Neill worked extensively in professional indemnity matters involving financial services licensees, finance brokers, builders, real estate agents and psychologists. He has appeared at the Magistrates Court, District Court, Supreme Court and Federal Court, and acted as junior counsel in a protracted Supreme Court trial which later went on appeal. Mr O'Neill also provides advice on liability, quantum, recovery and strategic management over a wide range of claims. He is also experienced with a wide range of legislation including the Civil Liability Act 2002, Trade Practices Act 1974, Competition and Consumer Act 2010, Australian Securities and Investments Commissions Act 2001, Corporations Act 2001, Insurance Contracts Act 1984 and Port Authorities Act 1999.
