Tony van Merwyk

With more than 2 decades of experience in environment, planning and liquor law, Tony van Merwyk manages and advises on major project environment, planning and urban development approvals. His experience includes: providing strategic and legal advice on approvals for major projects; industry, mining and energy environmental and planning operational issues; environmental incident management; contaminated sites; environmental legal compliance audits; environmental legal management systems; environmental and planning civil and criminal litigation; environmental law training; mine closure; climate change legal issues; liquor licensing. He holds, or has held, a range of industry and government positions including director of Greening Australia (WA), member of Marine Parks and Reserves Authority, member of Advisory Council to the EPA and board member of Surfing WA. He is also an ambassador for Surfaid International assisting Surfaid in its humanitarian efforts in the remoter areas of Indonesia.
