Tim Beckett joined McLeods in 2006 and became a partner in 2017. He graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts. Mr Beckett regularly carries out prosecutions for local governments under various legislation including the Planning and Development Act 2005, Building Act 2011, Food Act 2008, and Dog Act 1976. He has represented local governments in many jurisdictions including the Magistrates Court, District Court, Supreme Court, Court of Appeal and State Administrative Tribunal. Mr Beckett is a frequent contributor to local government publications, writing a number of articles specifically related to enforcement issues in local government. He has also delivered seminars on local government compliance issues, and lectured at Curtin University.
