Thom Smyth
Thom Smyth joined Performing Lines in 2014 from The Blue Room Theatre. He completed a Bachelor of Communications with a double major in journalism and politics, completing his studies with an internship at The Jakarta Post in Indonesia. He ditched aspirations of Canberra press gallery glory to work freelance for independent artists and venues. He is the marketing manager at Performing Lines WA and Proximity Festival, Australia’s first and only one-on-one performance platform. His clients have included the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts and Chunky Move (through the Mobile States Initiative), Bivouac Canteen, The Big HOO-HAA!, The Brow Horn Orchestra, Bird Studio and numerous productions including the Bane trilogy (UK), HotForTheatre’s Eternal Rising of the Sun (IRE), Le Foulard (UK), and …miskien (RSA). Mr Smyth was also part of the creative team behind Barefaced Stories.
